Manufactured in the 80’s by the renowned Polish lighting manufacturer ‘Polam Wilkasy’. Produced in the brutalist style of the period where form followed function, every aspect of this fitting served a purpose. The sealed unit allowed operation within environments rich in volatile gases and the interesting, finned structure enabled the use of powerful sodium discharge bulbs without the risk of the assembly overheating.

Traditionally found within bunkers, this fitting was in fact recovered from a decommissioned mining facility within Ostrava – the industrial powerhouse of the Czech Republic. This pendant was used to illuminate the external passageways surrounding one of the main blast furnaces. The decision was made to restore this pendant to its factory specifications using a tough stove-enamelled finish.

This fitting arrives complete with a new ceramic E27 lamp holder, two metres of black cable, two metres of steel chain and a ceiling mounting plate. Complete and ready to hang.
