The manufacturer ‘Zaklady Metalowe MESKO’ was established in 1922 and had its origins deeply rooted in the manufacture of munitions for the Polish armed forces. The company embarked on diversification into the lighting market during the cold war and became known for their versatile and robust assemblies. This model and its variants were created within the Soviet Union and as such they ooze cold war character.

These lights were salvaged from a decommissioned appliance factory in Gdansk where their large Fresnel lens allowed the illumination of expansive areas. Their age coupled with their harsh service life has created a magnificent patina to the enamelled enclosures which just cannot be replicated in modern-day fittings. To conserve their unique character, these lights have been thoroughly cleaned, painstakingly reassembled and protected with Renaissance Wax.

Each light arrives complete with its original restored lamp holder with E27 socket, two metres of black cable, two metres of steel chain and a ceiling mounting plate. Complete and ready to hang.
