Although known for their production of armaments, the Polish manufacturer ‘Zaklady Metalowe MESKO’ became a specialist in the home appliance and lighting sectors. By 1960, their lighting ranges were so popular they were successfully awarded government contracts for the illumination of newly regenerated infrastructure. Unlike modern street lighting, this light was not only functional but was designed to complement the Art Deco style of the era. As a result, this light offered a decorative value to the streets which really lifted the mood at the time.

Protected from further oxidation using Renaissance Wax, a substance developed by the British Museum for the preservation of ancient artefacts. This lights impressive steel dome and subtle detailing offers a minimalist value which will undoubtedly add warmth and intrigue to a modern setting.

This light arrives complete with its original restored lamp holder with E27 socket, two metres of black cable, two metres of steel chain and a ceiling mounting plate. Complete and ready to hang.
